Introduction
This is a classic one day itinerary for travelers staying in Khiva or Urgench (Uzbekistan) who want to visit Dashoguz region and the UNESCO site Kunya-Urgench in Turkmenistan, plus a short, authentic stop at a local bazaar in Dashoguz. Because Shavat border works until around 18:00, the schedule is planned to return in time.

1 Day Tour: Shavat Border → Dashoguz → Kunya-Urgench (UNESCO) + Local Bazaar → Shavat Border
- 08:00 Pick-up from your hotel in Khiva/Urgench (optional transfer) → drive to Shavat Border
- 10:00 Border opens / meet our personal English-speaking guide on the Turkmenistan side
- 10:00–11:30 Border formalities + visa procedures (approx. 1.5 hours)
- 11:30–12:00 Drive to Dashoguz city
- 12:00–13:00 Lunch at a local restaurant (cultural local style)
- 13:00–14:30 Drive to Kunya-Urgench (about 1.5 hours)
- 14:30–16:00 Guided visit of Kunya-Urgench (UNESCO) highlights:
- Kutlug-Timur Minaret
- Il-Arslan Mausoleum
- Turabek-Khanum Mausoleum
- Najmuddin-Kubra Mausoleum
- Other key monuments of the Ancient Urgench complex
- 16:00–17:30 Return to Dashoguz
- 17:30–18:00 Visit Dashoguz local bazaar: souvenirs, local caps (tahya), handicrafts, fresh snacks, real local atmosphere
- 18:00 Drive to Shavat Border (must arrive before closing)
