Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Ashgabat arrival, Ashgabat to Darvaza
- Meet at Ashgabat International Airport after your arrival (we will confirm a meeting time once you send your flight number and arrival time).
- Quick breakfast and freshen up at a local café.
- Morning: short Ashgabat city highlights and Melon Festival attendance — sampling local melons and festival foods.
- Early afternoon: depart for Darvaza Gas Crater by car (approx. 3.5 hour drive, 270–300 km).
- Evening: arrive at Darvaza in time for sunset, dinner at the yurt camp, explore the “Gates of Hell.” Overnight in a yurt or tent near the crater (basic comfort).
Day 2: Darvaza to Ashgabat to Night train to Turkmenabat
- Morning: breakfast at the camp, optional short walk around the gas crater area.
- Drive back to Ashgabat with stops at the Water Crater and Mud Crater en route.
- Lunch in Ashgabat at a local restaurant recommended for authentic Turkmen food (we’ll take you to tried-and-tested local spots and melon festival stalls).
- Afternoon: Ashgabat city tour.
- Evening: transfer to Ashgabat railway station to board the night train to Turkmenabat. We will book a sleeper berth for your comfort.
Day 3: Turkmenabat to Farap border (transfer to Uzbekistan)
- Morning: arrive in Turkmenabat, short city visit and breakfast.
- After lunch: transfer to Farap (Farab) border crossing for exit to Uzbekistan. Tour ends at the border.
