Introduction

Tour Itinerary

  • Ferry arrival: Meeting at Turkmenbashi port after arrival of the ferry from Baku.
  • Transfer to hotel: Transfer to hotel in Turkmenbashi city, located on the shore of the Caspian Sea.
  • Free time: Free time for rest and getting acquainted with the city.
  • Night: At hotel in Turkmenbashi.

  • Morning: After breakfast, depart to the stunning Yangikala Canyons, known for their multicolored rock formations.
  • Note: Yangikala Canyons must be included if Turkmenbashi is included.
  • Journey to Ashgabat: From Yangikala, drive to the capital city Ashgabat.
  • On the way: Visit the underground thermal lake Kov Ata and the picturesque mountain village of Nohur — classic stops between Yangikala and Ashgabat.
  • Evening: Arrival in Ashgabat, check-in at hotel.
  • Night: At hotel in Ashgabat.

  • Morning: After breakfast, start a sightseeing tour of Ashgabat, one of the most unusual “white marble” cities in the world.
  • Sightseeing: See the main attractions of the city (this tour includes one city excursion in Ashgabat).
  • Afternoon: After lunch, drive north to the famous Darvaza Gas Crater (“Gates of Hell”).
  • Sunset: Arrival at the crater shortly before sunset to enjoy the spectacular view of the burning pit.
  • Evening: Dinner and free time at the crater; the guide will share stories about this place.
  • Night: In yurts or tents near the Darvaza crater.

  • Morning: After breakfast at the yurt camp, depart back to Ashgabat.
  • On the way: Visit the Water and Mud craters and stop in a desert village where goats and camels are raised.
  • Afternoon: Arrival in Ashgabat, check-in at hotel.
  • Free time: Free time in the city.
  • Night: At hotel in Ashgabat.

  • Program: Full-day Ashgabat city tour with visits to the main landmarks and interesting districts.
  • Night: At hotel in Ashgabat.

  • Morning: After breakfast, drive east to the ancient city of Merv, one of the greatest Silk Road cities.
  • Note: Merv and Mary are only about 30 km apart, so we visit both in one day.
  • Sightseeing: Visit Gyz-Gala, the Askhabi mausoleums, the ancient fortresses of Gyaur Kala and Erk Kala, and the mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar.
  • Evening: Dinner in Mary city, the regional capital.
  • Night: At hotel in Mary city.

  • Morning: After breakfast, depart from Mary / Merv region towards Turkmenabat, the second-largest city of Turkmenistan (lunch en route).
  • Afternoon: Arrival at the Farab border checkpoint between Turkmenabat and Bukhara.
  • End of tour: Border formalities and departure from Turkmenistan.
