Choose the Right Turkmenistan Tour
The best Turkmenistan tour depends on how many days you have, where you plan to enter the country and where you want to finish your journey.
2–3 day tours are ideal for travellers combining Turkmenistan with Uzbekistan. Routes from Khiva usually enter through the Shavat border and can include Kunya-Urgench and the Darvaza Gas Crater. Travellers arriving from Bukhara can enter through Farap and continue toward Merv, Ashgabat, Darvaza and Khiva.
4–5 day tours allow more time to explore several of Turkmenistan’s major highlights, including Ashgabat, Ancient Merv, Darvaza, Kunya-Urgench and, on selected routes, Yangykala Canyon.
Longer Turkmenistan tours are suitable for travellers who want to explore beyond the classic route and visit destinations such as the Caspian coast, Koytendag and remote desert regions.
