Day 1: Bukhara / Farab Border – Turkmenabat – Ancient Merv – Ashgabat

Border crossing and meeting your guide
Begin your journey from Bukhara and travel toward the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan border. After completing the Uzbek exit formalities and crossing to the Turkmen side at Farab, meet your local guide and driver. Border-processing times can vary, so the day's schedule remains flexible according to your actual crossing time.

Drive to Turkmenabat
After entering Turkmenistan, continue by private vehicle to Turkmenabat. Depending on the timing of your border crossing, stop in the city for an early lunch at a local restaurant before beginning the longer journey toward Merv.
