Spend two days discovering Bukhara, one of the great historic cities of the Silk Road. Walk through its UNESCO-listed old town, explore ancient trading domes, madrasahs, mosques and mausoleums, and visit the former summer palace of the Emir of Bukhara together with important religious and cultural sites outside the historic centre.
Continue to Samarkand, where magnificent monuments tell the story of the Timurid era. 6-Day Uzbekistan Tour Itinerary:
Day 1 — Arrival in Tashkent, City Tour & Train to Bukhara
- Arrive at Tashkent International Airport, where you will be welcomed by your driver and transferred into the city.
- Depending on your arrival time and confirmed hotel arrangements, you will have an opportunity to leave your luggage and prepare for the sightseeing programme.
- Meet your local guide and begin exploring Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan.
- Start in the historic part of the city with a visit to the Khast Imam Complex, one of Tashkent’s most important religious centres. Explore its historic Islamic buildings and learn about the famous Quran collection associated with the complex.

- Begin at the beautiful Lyabi Hauz Ensemble, centred around one of Bukhara’s historic ponds and surrounded by traditional architecture.
- Continue to the unusual Chor Minor Madrasah and visit the historic Magoki Attori Mosque, one of the oldest surviving religious buildings in Bukhara.
- Walk through Bukhara’s famous Trading Domes, which once formed an important part of the city’s commercial life along the Silk Road.
- Continue to the Ulugbek Madrasah and Abdulaziz Khan Madrasah, two important examples of Islamic educational architecture representing different periods of Bukhara’s history.
- Visit the impressive Poi Kalyan Complex, including the towering Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque and Miri Arab Madrasah.
- Continue towards the monumental Ark Fortress, the historic citadel that served for centuries as the residence and administrative centre of Bukhara’s rulers.
