Tour Itinerary
Day 1, Farab Border – Turkmenabat – Merv (UNESCO) – Ashgabat
- Meet at the Farab border (from Bukhara).
- Border formalities (1.5–2 hours).
- Meet your Turkmen guide — assistance with visa and procedures.
- Drive to Turkmenabat for lunch at a national restaurant.
- Continue to Ancient Merv via the new high-speed highway (~4 hours).
- Sightseeing in Merv (UNESCO World Heritage Site):
- Gyaur Kala
- Erk Kala
- Kyz Kala
- Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum
- Fortresses and panoramic viewpoints
- Optional: camel ride and meeting a Turkmen Alabay dog.
- Drive from Merv to Ashgabat (3.5–4 hours).
- Evening arrival in Ashgabat — world’s whitest marble city (Guinness Record).
- Check-in at the hotel.
Day 2, Full Ashgabat City Tour (attractions + museums + Nisa)
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Start full-day city tour:
- Independence Monument
- Arch of Neutrality
- Magtymguly Fragi Monument
- Turkmenbashi Mosque (largest dome in Central Asia)
- Visit Ancient Nisa (UNESCO) — Parthian royal capital.
- Visit National Museum of Turkmenistan (~1.5 hours).
- Lunch at a national restaurant (khan-plov, ishlekli, local bread).
- Continue sightseeing:
- Carpet Museum (world-record giant carpet)
- Lenin Monument
- Geokdepe area
- Evening program:
- Alem Center (indoor Ferris wheel — Guinness Record)
- Dinner at an Italian restaurant
- Overnight in Ashgabat.
Day 3, Bazaars – Akhal-Teke Horses – Bajgiran Border (Iran)
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Visit Ashgabat bazaars:
- Tolkuchka Bazaar
- Russian Bazaar
- Visit an Akhal-Teke horse farm — time for walking and photos.
- Afternoon transfer to the Bajgiran border (Iran) — depart around 16:00.
- Guide assists with all exit formalities.
- End of the tour.
